Thought this kind of looked like an old postcard when I took the photo, figured I’d touch it up a bit. Yes, the ‘I’ was there, but barely. ;-)
State Pier – New Bedford, MA
I decided to take a drive (with camera in hand) during the snow storm over the weekend to see what I could find. It wound up being much colder and windier than I had hoped, and diffucult to shoot. I went by a few of the usual haunts to see how things looked in the snow, but wound up cutting it short when I could no longer feel my fingers.
The USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Destroyer DD-850 at Battleship Cove, Fall River, MA
I attempted to photograph this ship once before, over the winter when it was dry docked in town, but was turned away. It’s not the original Mayflower (which would be almost 400 years old now) but it’s a very accurate reproduction. It also lives a few hundred yards from Plymouth Rock in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
The photo is actually a composite of three vertical wide angle shots put together using Autostitch.
