I decided to take a drive (with camera in hand) during the snow storm over the weekend to see what I could find. It wound up being much colder and windier than I had hoped, and diffucult to shoot. I went by a few of the usual haunts to see how things looked in the snow, but wound up cutting it short when I could no longer feel my fingers.
The first big snowstorm of the year happened to fall on the solstice. I’ve wanted to photograph this church in the winter for a while but never caught the right conditions until today.
Winter has been strange here this year. It has gone from being very cold, very early, to being very warm (60 degrees during the first week of January), now back to snow and cold once again.
It must be something in the air…?
