Winter sunrise through the icy looking-glass.
A new beginning…
I know that somewhere, somehow, at sometime in the past, I have probably made a post under this title, but that’s what it is, so here it is again. ;-)
I have been posting on several services over the past few years, all of which are great at what they do, but each lacks something that I need or want in the service, or does it differently than how I would like it done. On top of that, the whole Web2.0 drive has turned some of these sites into “social networks” where the number of friends you have is in direct proportion to the number of comments and feedback you receive on what you post, regardless of quality. I would rather receive one honest criticism than one hundred polite but hollow praises, which is how things are on in the “social network” scene. I’ve decided that I would go back to doing things by myself, for myself, in my own way, as I did before I discovered Flickr and Zooomr and Photoblogs, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I will still be using all of those services as I have been, but this site will give me just a little more room to spread out and get more into the photos I take and post, without the pressures of having to post every day, or follow posting guidelines, or whatever. It will allow me to be me, and share what I’d like with whoever will look, read, and maybe even come back. ;-)
