I found a new flower today and couldn’t help but to shoot it in the make-shift light box I am running on my desk. Added the close up+ filter set to get the size and distance right, and came up with this final result. As always, comments or criticisms are more than welcome.
One of three giant blooms that have finally opened up on our Easter Lily. I may spend a bit more time photographing it with some better lighting later, though I really doubt I can improve much upon what nature has already created.
A child’s toy that was just sitting there waiting to be photographed. ;-)
I currently have my N80 SLR loaded with Ektachrome that I will later cross process. The problem is that I want to make those shots count, and have been working through the roll very slowly. I hope to have in done in another week or two, but no promises. It’s amazing to me, how much extra effort has to go into film photography. I shot film for years, but I guess that I never really got it until making the DSLR jump. Don’t get me wrong, I still love film, I would be nowhere without it, as it’s where I learned everything. I just can’t get over how convenient digital has become, it’s no wonder the film companies are dropping like flies.
Finally done with these nasties, not sure what good they did, but this kind of describes how I felt about them.
I’ve been thinking about a story I read some years ago, Samuel Beckett’s “The Lost Ones”, and now this photo stirs the memory once again. It was a short that I read many years ago after a recommendation from a friend. I think some time later, years later, I “got” the story and it made more sense to me. Maybe it was due to maturity, or just a fuzzy memory, I’m not sure, but now, I have been thinking about trying to track it down again and give it a second look. It also makes me wonder about the person who first recommended the book to me, as I think it held a deeper meaning for them that I just didn’t get at the time. I will likely read the story again soon, but I’m not sure it will have the same impact it has had on my for the past 15 or so years.
I am probably over analyzing this whole thing…but then again…?
…to keep me busy.
…to keep me in line.
…to keep me focused.
…to keep me entertained
…to keep me out of trouble.
…to keep me, being me.
